Troppo SIGFA 2008

Talofa Friends,

It was another terrific SIGFA tournament and our mens and ladies teams (Team Troppo) achieved some great results.

4th Place Open Tournament - Overall
2nd Place Open Tag & Release - Blue Marlin x 2 to 250kg estimate (Jim & Jai)
3rd Place Open Wahoo (Jai)
1st Place Ladies Day Tournament - Overall
Best Female Angler (Tina)
1st Place Mahi Mahi (Tina)
2nd Place Mahi Mahi (Mia)

We all had a terrific time and considering there were 28 boats fishing the tournament (8 from NZ) we are very pleased with our results. (If we had killed our biggest Blue Marlin..."never" or hung on to a couple we dropped, we would have blitzed it..that's fishin!)

Some solid fish were weighed in:

Blue Marlin - 196kg - a new 37kg Samoa 37kg Line Class Record to local angler Courtney Stephens
Yellowfin Tuna - 69kg - caught by Ray Bancroft our club president
Mahi Mahi - 21kg
Wahoo - 19kg

The weather for the tournament was absolutely beautiful with calm days and low swells.

Pure Indulgence performed beautifully throughout the tournament and both our skipper Ian and deckie Austin were magnificent as always.

I have been thinking of you all and wish you too could have been here to experience such a memorable week.
