MERRY CHRISTMAS - THE BIG FSH SEASON IS UPON US

Offshore from Apia, anglers have been experiencing the beginning of our Christmas run of yellowfin tuna. Team Troppo reports good catches coming from “The Paddock”, the area between the first and second drop offs, south of Apia FAD. Yellowfin tuna to 50kg have been in the mix. Rex, Meto and Randy landed a ripper last Saturday in the vicinity of The Crossover..See pic. Once again, the JB Little Dingo did the trick. Anglers have also been releasing blue marlin west and east of Apia, along the 2000m line. The same depth has also been producing good fish NE of Tarpini. Pakula Zippers and Cockroaches, JB Choppers and of course the Dingo's are doing most of the damage. As we head into Christmas and the New Year, blue marlin and yellowfin tuna will be patrolling the crystal waters between the 2000m & 4000m drop offs. In close, sailfish, Spaniards and wahoo will be on the chew while the GT’s and doggies will be hanging over the bombies and seamounts ready to provide plenty of action.

If your thinking of coming fishing in Samoa, give January and February plenty of consideration as they are two of our most productive months for lots of species and most definitely our BIG FISH months for both yellowfin tuna and blue marlin.

Email me greg@troppofishing.com asap and don't miss out on the action..Yee Ha!!
